Animation Competition: Stories of Aberystwyth

Workshop Calendar

We shall be running a series of public workshops for all ages on how to create Scratch animations, see below for information.

Competition Details

We invite your submissions to the Aberystwyth University 150^th Birthday Animation Contest.

The best animations will be showcased on the big screen at The Arts Centre Cinema on April 29^th 2023.

There are 4 categories for this competition:

1. Scratch Animations: Primary School Age Group
2. Scratch Animations: Secondary School Age Group
3. Scratch Animations: Open to All Ages
4. General Animations (Using any software/medium except Scratch): Open to All Ages

Rules

• Your animation must involve Aberystwyth in some way (but can be entirely fictional)
• Entries for our Scratch Animations categories must be made using Scratch
• Your animation should be no longer than 2 minutes
• Only use sounds and images that you have permission to use. This means you can use anything in Scratch, the images we provide during the public workshops, and/or your own creations.
• Please avoid adult themes and content - the showcase event will be sharing shortlisted animations to an audience of all ages
• Do not include any offensive material
• Any submission deemed to be in breach of these rules will be rejected

Submission

The last date for any submission is Sunday 9^th April 2023

For Scratch Animations, please:

• Make your animation public on the Scratch website.
• Submit the link to us using the contest entry form.

For general animations, please:

• Upload your animation to a file-sharing or video-sharing service (e.g., Dropbox or YouTube).
• Submit the link to us using the contest entry form.
