This will be a series of short talks by members of the Computer Science Department at Aberystwyth University followed by a panel discussion.

The Micro:Bit is an affordable programmable computer packed full of technology. They have been designed for beginner programmers from primary age to adult.
As part of this workshop, we'll introduce you to some of the amazing things you can do with the Micro:Bit and get you started block programming in an online classroom with a simulator.
This session will be run by Tally Roberts, our Outreach Officer for the Faculty of Business and Physical Sciences at Aberystwyth University.

Homes are becoming more intelligent, from electric smart meters to the light bulbs that can be controlled from your phone. As part of this event, we will be looking at a selection of sensors, in order to design, build and program a simulated smart home.
This workshop is aimed at people with some programming experience (beginners to intermediate level), who are interested in applying it to hardware and robotics. As part of the workshop, we will be using the 'TinkerCAD Circuits' online simulation to build and program our smart-home.
Arduino C will be the programming language used during this session.
This workshop will be run by Tomos Fearn, a robotics PhD student from the Intelligent Robotics Research group at Aberystwyth University.

As part of this event, we will be looking at a selection of different robots and some of the added complexities of interacting with the physical world.
This workshop is aimed at people with some programming experience who are interested in applying it to robotics. As part of the workshop, we'll be using the robotbenchmark online simulation to look at explore a range of challenges.
Python will be the programming language used during this session.
