How to keep yourselves and others safe and secure online.
An interactive presentation about how much and what to share online.
To discuss or book this or any of our other workshops, please contact Tally Roberts.
We provide a delivery officer with a PowerPoint presentation and laminated handouts.
We need a computer connected to a presentation screen or projector for the PowerPoint slides.
This session takes 45-60 minutes.
As the internet is a brilliant resource for learners throughout secondary school, we offer variations on the content according to age.
For year 7-9 (ages 11-13) we focus more on reliability of information online and how to search safely and accurately.
For years 10-13 (ages 14-18) it is more about sharing of information on social media as they have reached the age of digital consent.
This can be a stand-alone generic session that covers a range of different safety issues online.
We also offer more specifically targeted sessions, such as our fake news workshop.
For any other information regarding specific areas of online usage and safety, please contact us.
We are happy to provide this workshop through remote conferencing technology such as Teams or Zoom. For this you will need to provide a large presentation screen or projector with speakers, microphone, and webcam.
Any handouts will be sent electronically beforehand to be printed for the session.
Alternatively, we provide a free classroom resource pack for teachers on TES: Sharing Information Online.
As mentioned above, we can tune the session more towards usage of the internet as an educational resource, or towards online safety with social media.
